Operations are special actions certain units are able to perform in order to give you and your team an advantage on the battlefield. Most operations have the possibility of getting your units captured/killed, if they are then the lost value is added to your reimbursement amount.

There are 4 main types of operations you can perform:

Spying

Using units that have the 'spy' special ability such as certain aircraft and special ops units you can send some of them out to spy on opposing player forces.

This lets you know what units the other team has providing they are in the same country as you. There is also a random chance of the units you send being captured by the opposing force.

Your personal stats affect how well your spies do at detecting forces, a combination of intelligence and communications is required in order to spy the different unit types. On top of this, you are unable to detect unit types that you yourself have not yet unlocked.

When you perform a spy, the units you use will be 'busy' for a random amount of time, typically around ~8-20 minutes. Your Changhe Z-8 or Blackhawks units can provide air support that lowers the time taken for a spy to be performed.

With sufficient intelligence and communications, you normally need 3 spec ops to spy infantry, 10 for vehicles, 50 for aircraft and 250 for naval. When using spy drones (Predators for Allies or BZK005 for Axis) you need 1 for infantry, 2 for vehicles, 10 for aircraft and 50 for naval.

Minimum requirement Infantry Land vehicles Aircraft Naval
Spying units 3 special ops or 1 drone 10 special ops or 2 drones 50 special ops or 10 drones 250 special ops or 50 drones

Bombing

Special Ops units have the special ability to bomb opposing teams facilities, the larger the force you send the more damage you deal however this does not affect the number of units you lose. If a country has a high number of Ground Defences then expect to lose more units.

Currently, it's a worthwhile strategy to send only ~200 special ops for bombings and use the 'repeat operation' button in order to minimise the randomness of losing your units. Its also important to remember that bombing timers are "per unit", so if you have 100 spec ops but only use 50, the other 50 are still available.

Your personal stats also affect the success of your bombing:

  • Leadership - reduces the chance that your special ops are found & can increase the number of facilities you destroy
  • Intelligence & Communication - Increases the number of facilities you can destroy
  • Operations skill - Increases the number of facilities you destroy by the number of points you have put into it

The downside to using special ops forces for bombing is that typically they are somewhat easily destroyed and captured and the cooldown timer is relatively high. Typically you are looking at a ~2hrs to ~4hrs timer.

Like spying, Changhe Z-8 and Blackhawks units provide air support and can reduce the amount of time for your units to return from an operation quite significantly.

Airstrikes

Much like bombing, airstrikes can be used to destroy the opposing teams facilities and again the larger the force you send the more damage you can deal. Air defences in the country affect how many units you could potentially lose.

Intelligence, leadership and communications all affect how much damage you deal during an airstrike with communication providing the highest bonus. Along with this, your Operations skill will increase the number of facilities you destroy by the skill level.

Airstrikes have a 1-2hr timer.

Bombardment

Performing bombardments is yet another way to destroy the opposing teams facilities. Your naval units and some land units are capable of bombarding a countries defences. Naval units can only be used when the country has a coastline.

If using Naval units then the countries coastline will affect the damage you deal. As with other operations, intel, leadership and communications also affect this figure. For bombardments, you do need slightly higher stat values for these bonuses to kick in. Your Operations skill will increase the amount of facilities destroyed by the % skill value.

Land units are affected by ground defences and therefore it is still possible for them to be destroyed.

Bombardments have the lowest cooldown period of 20minutes to an hour making it the most attractive operation for those looking to quickly destroy a countries defences while still doing a moderately high amount of damage.
